April 2012 Lunch & Learn
Questions to Ask Aging Parents

When was the last time you had a serious talk with your parents about aging–specifically, issues regarding finances, health care and their final wishes? This sort of subject is a difficult one to bring up, but by facing these issues together, you can help ensure that your parents’ golden years will be as comfortable as they deserve.

Join Yerba Buena Financial Partners for a discussion of the questions you need to ask today so you can care for your parents as they age. During this hour-long session, we’ll discuss the things you and your parents can do together to plan for the future, including how to:

  • Handle finances if a parent becomes ill or unable to manage complex financial decisions
  • Make sure your parents’ estate plan, power of attorney and wills are up to date, while minimizing your family’s emotional stress
  • Determine the level of care and intervention your parents require should they become seriously ill
  • Evaluate your parents’ health insurance
  • Discuss issues regarding driving and living at home
  • Compile a list of important information that can be referred to in an emergency

A catered lunch will be provided.
